I know a lot of people who sneer. They think of the law of attraction and they are turned off, as if it’s only used by the lowest common denominators of the intellectual and spiritual spectra. I couldn’t tell you if that were true, nor would I wish to speculate, however the law of attraction came into my life in such a novel and law of attraction-like manner that I couldn’t say no. In fact I tried, but it wouldn’t stay away!

Introduction to The Law of Attraction: Initial Skepticism

I was in college at about 20 years old, and an acquaintance, a spritely and enthusiastic young man came running up to me explaining that I had to learn about the law of attraction and that, I kid you not, “Ammanuel, you will become the manifestation master!” I was weary of new age things at the time (yes, this time did in fact, exist) and after having had tried to explain to him that I wasn’t interested, he explained to me that I had manifested it, and he enthusiastically gave me his copies of The Secret, the book and The Secret, the movie. Now one thing that I have noticed, is that spirituality is simply reality, for those of us equipped to pay attention. And everything that I found within that movie simply validated things that I had noticed in my life on the periphery of my consciousness, but that were becoming increasingly relevant and important to understand.

I did eventually master the law of attraction to the point where I was manifesting improbable events instantly, and so effortlessly that I didn’t even notice that I was doing it, it took other people noticing and asking me “did you manifest that?” for me to realize that in fact, I did! Warren was right, I surely would become a master manifestor. And I learned a lot of things along the way.

Affirmations: The beginnings of an indomitable will

One thing I learned that was invaluable along my path to manifestation mastery was willpower. It’s been said more than once, and by more than one person, that I have an indomitable will. I’m not sure if it was always like that. Surely the potential was there, the way it is for anyone I believe, but the Law of Attraction taught me to have an indomitable will. In the application of affirmations, and ceaseless venturing into my psyche to uncover limiting beliefs, I developed such a drive and commitment to myself and my own wellbeing, that I uncovered and endless font of willpower and had practiced it’s application so frequently to overcome…intimidating odds, that I eventually just had enough so that nothing would ever be able to overcome it. A skill that certainly saved my life at a time when anything but the most resilient will would have been consumed. I’m immensely grateful for Warren and the Law of Attraction to have taught me that.

Gratitude And Positive Thinking: Literal Lifesavers

Gratitude. Another thing that the law of attraction taught me was to always be focused on the positive. I had been naturally a believer in the power of positivity since I was a teenager. I always had believed in the power of belief, which was just through observing through my life and others that what we believe does indeed have a powerful impact on the outcome of experiences. I suppose that positive thinking and eventually the Law of Attraction would be natural evolutions of this awareness. With gratitude, I was able to work my way out of the lows of depression at least a few times, which trained me to focus on the positives of a given situation, which in turn, fundamentally would transform the parts of reality that my mind and emotions were responding to, enabling me to work with what was constructive and life giving, and thus getting better results than a more "neutral” or “balanced” view of things. Virtues if you’re an engineer, or perhaps, a biologist, at least, in the context of doing your job, but not for a living being who is part of a dynamic living system. There is no objective observer in the realities of life, only a multiplicities of perspectives. The key lesson here was mastering the focus of my consciousness on desirable outcomes in order to make them come to pass.

Confronting the Ego & Finding The Authentic Self

The path had me head straight into confronting my ego when I realized that none of my manifestations were working anymore, they all seemed to be backfiring. I endeavored on a journey through Internal Family Systems which taught me about my essential Self and Parts, which are our subpersonalities. I determined that these parts were key for the successful use of the Law of Attraction, so I decided to master the art and integrate all of my parts. This resulted in profound spiritual and psychological healing, which I desperately needed, but once more, is testament to the fact that the Law of Attraction is a valid spiritual teacher, and led to me healing the fragments of a wounded ego, and eventually beginning to learn to align my consciousness with that of a higher power.

Aligning with a Higher Source

The latest step in manifestation resulted in me harmonizing my practice with what one manifestor called “The highest light of God” which basically means, in alignment with the highest and best good of everything. So the reason why my manifestations had been not working out is that they were filled with egoic consciousness, which is basically a more myopic perspective than the Self, which is your authentic Self that is aligned with…the good inside of everything else. They’re two ways of articulating something similar. So the ego is only capable of bringing about temporary illusions that consistently disappoint or even wind up hurting everyone involved. However, if we’re manifesting from a more wholesome and holistic energy-from a higher source, our manifestations bring about the wellbeing for all involved and are long lasting. This was the final lesson for me as a solo practitioner. When I learned this, I now realize, the Path had fulfilled itself.

Sharing and Teaching

The Law of Attraction had provided me with an abundance of great experiences, and was an indispensable and powerful tool that was now practiced until it became effortless, and it had brought me through a healing journey that connected me back to my creative source. I couldn’t have asked for anything more, and now the only way to say “thank you” was to pay it forward and share what I had learned through coaching and teaching.
